Viral Videos Spark Debate Over Social Media Sharing and Road Safety Concerns
Influencer Ryzal Ibrahim’s viral video showing his son’s medical emergency after a fall has sparked debate over sharing sensitive moments online, while a separate viral clip of a couple displaying affection in a moving vehicle has prompted a Road Transport Department investigation over road safety concerns.
Ryzal revealed that he and his wife, Maryam You Narae, experienced a terrifying ordeal after their son, Rian, nearly lost consciousness following a fall from his bed. According to Ryzal, the child initially cried loudly after the fall before suddenly becoming quiet and appearing unresponsive.
“He cried loudly at first, but then suddenly went quiet and closed his eyes as if he had fallen asleep. He was unresponsive, so we rushed him to the emergency department,” Ryzal wrote on Instagram.
The influencer further explained that he and Maryam desperately attempted to keep their son awake while rushing him to the hospital. However, Rian reportedly showed no response throughout the journey.
“Maryam and I tried our best to keep Rian awake throughout the journey, but his body showed no response. His eyes remained closed even as Maryam shouted her name at the top of her lungs,” he said.
The video quickly gained attention across social media platforms. While some users defended the decision to record the incident, arguing that such footage could assist medical professionals in assessing a patient’s condition and monitoring symptoms, others questioned the need to upload the video online during a family medical emergency.
In a separate incident that also attracted significant public attention, a couple has come under investigation after a video showing them displaying affection inside a moving vehicle circulated widely on social media.
The Road Transport Department has launched an investigation into the incident. Senior Enforcement Director Datuk Muhammad Kifli Ma Hassan confirmed that enforcement action would be taken against both the driver and the passenger featured in the video.
“The investigation is still ongoing and once completed, summonses will be issued to them,” he was quoted as saying by Harian Metro.
The footage showed a man driving while a woman leaned against the dashboard facing him, with the pair appearing to engage in affectionate behaviour throughout the journey. The video drew sharp criticism from members of the public, many of whom expressed concern over road safety and the risks associated with distracted driving.
The two incidents have generated intense discussion online, highlighting growing concerns about the role of social media in documenting personal events and the broader implications of behaviour that may endanger public safety.
